Forfar Athletic - Brechin City Match Preview - By John Hoey

Forfar Athletic - Brechin City Match Preview.

Brechin City will make the short journey through to Station Park tomorrow afternoon to face their near neighbours in what everyone at Glebe Park hopes will be the last match of the season.

Victory over the Loons would certainly confirm City's League One status for next season but with a vastly superior goal difference over both Cowdenbeath and Stenhousemuir who face tricky matches against promotion hopefuls Stranraer and Albion Rovers, three points may not be required to avoid the play-offs.

Darren Dods and his players however will put all such thoughts out of their minds as they approach tomorrow's derby and will be determined to end the season on a high note with victory over the Loons who sadly, were relegated to League Two following their 3-2 defeat at Albion Rovers last Saturday.

Despite that bitter disappointment, Gary Bollan will no doubt be urging his depleted squad to send their supporters home happy with a derby victory so an enticing and intriguing ninety minutes is on the cards for both sets of supporters.

As far as City team news is concerned, both Jas Sukar and David Weatherston remain on the injury list but Lewis Spence who had come off at half-time against Stranraer last Saturday is fit so it seems pretty certain that City will field an unchanged team for the third week in succession.

The referee will be locally based Mat Northcroft a well known figure to both sets of players.

Admission prices at Station Park are :-

£13 and £7 (Concessions) - Stand
£12 and £6 (Concessions) - Ground

The 1984 Lounge at the ground will be open to both sets of supporters from 12.30pm until kick-off and again after the final whistle until 8.00pm.
