Brechin City - Cowdenbeath Match Preview - By John Hoey

Brechin City - Cowdenbeath Match Preview

Brechin City entertain Cowdenbeath at Glebe Park tomorrow with City hoping to narrow the points gap against Colin Nish's men who sit in eighth position in the Ladbrokes League One table, seven points ahead of their hosts.

Manager Darren Dods will enter the game without the services of central defender Darren McCormack who pulled a hamstring against Stenhousemuir a couple of weeks ago while fellow defender Paul McLean, whilst much improved, is still not 100% with a place on the bench the likely starting point for him. Therefore, it would seem likely that City's starting eleven won't be too far removed from the side that finished the match against the Warriors a week past Tuesday.

While City's game against Albion Rovers fell foul of the weather last Saturday, the Blue Brazil have played a couple of fixtures over the course of the last seven days. They went down to a 2-0 defeat against Airdrieonians at Excelsior Stadium last Saturday and on Tuesday night at Central Park, they went down to their fourth defeat in a row with Albion Rovers running out 2-1 winners, Greig Spence netting for the hosts.

The sides have met twice already this season with a win apiece the outcomes. In the first clash, played at Glebe Park in late September, City ran out 2-0 winners thanks to a couple of second-half goals from David Bates and Jonathan Tiffoney. However it was an entirely different story at Central Park two months later when goals from Dean Brett (penalty), Ali El Zubaidi and Greig Spence saw the Blue Brazil record a comfortable victory.

Tomorrow's referee is Craig Charleston who has been in charge of just one City fixture this season, the 2-1 home defeat from Stenhousemuir on 21st November.

Admission Prices at Glebe Park are :-
