Albion Rovers - Brechin City Match Preview
Brechin City will travel to Coatbridge tomorrow boosted by the news that former full-back Willie Dyer has signed a year-long deal with the club. With Paul McLean still another four to five weeks away from a return to first-team action, Willie's signing could not have come at more opportune time for the club especially as centre-back Ross Perry is still struggling with an injury he picked up in the pre-match warm-up down at Ayr a fortnight ago and which was further exacerbated before the match last Saturday against Airdrieonians. Goalkeeper Graeme Smith will be serving the final game of his two-match suspension and with former keeper Ben Tough who was on the bench last Saturday unavailable tomorrow, the manager will be fixing up another keeper on a short-term basis as cover for Patrick O'Neil who will be in goal at Cliftonhill.
On the plus front, David Weatherston who had to sit out against the Diamonds because of injury looks like he'll be back to face Rovers who sit in seventh place in the Ladbrokes League One table
Darren Young's side got their league campaign off to a cracker of a start with a 3-0 home victory over Ayr United but they were brought down firmly to earth at Station Park the following week when Forfar thumped them by 4-0 but the Albion players responded well to that defeat only going down, unluckily by all accounts,by the narrowest of margins against Cowdenbeath at Central Park last Saturday.
The Brechin City Supporters Club will be running a bus to Cliftonhill and as usual, Steven Stewart (07547552209) is the man to contact if you wish to reserve a seat. The bus will be departing from St Ninians Square at 10.30am.
