Brechin City - Dunfermline Athletic Match Preview - By John Hoey

Brechin City - Dunfermline Athletic Match Preview

Brechin City can go a long way to securing that fourth play-off place if they can manage to beat Dunfermline Athletic in tomorrow afternoon's eagerly anticipated fixture at Glebe Park.

Victory for City would see them extend the points difference over tomorrow's opponents to ten and would also end the play-off ambitions of both the Pars and Peterhead regardless whether they win or not against Forfar but no one at the club will be looking that far ahead and the total emphasis will be on picking up three vital home points in what is sure to be a evenly contested and close encounter.

City manager Ray McKinnon will welcome back Alan Trouten for tomorrow's match.
'Trouts' has looked sharp in training this week and his return will give the City supporters a huge boost but unfortunately, Gerry McLauchlan who was injured in the match against Morton at Cappielow a fortnight ago is ruled out again for tomorrow. However, Paul McLean who moved to central defence in last week's victory over Stirling Albion and put in his usual solid performance looks set to continue in that role with Ewan McNeil who also played well last week continuing at right-back.

All of the matches between the sides this season have been competitive and closely matched.

The opening day league fixture between the teams on 9th August ended all square and it wasn't until late February that the sides met again, also at East End Park when an Alan Trouten header after 73 minutes secured a City victory. The teams faced up to each other barely a fortnight later at Glebe Park when a goal within the first minute from former Arbroath midfielder Josh Falkingham gave his side a very early advantage, but a Paul McLean goal early in the second-half saw the match end all square.

The referee for tomorrow is experienced whistler John McKendrick who has been in charge of two City games this season, the 2-2 draw against Stranraer down at Stair Park in early August and the 2-1 Scottish Cup defeat from Falkirk in February.

The usual admission prices will apply for tomorrow's match which are :-

Adults - £12
Parent & Child - £15 (Plus £2 for each additional child in the family party)
Concessions (Over 65's and Under 18's) - £6

Tomorrow' Match Sponsor is Falck Safety Services while the Match Ball is being sponsored by Ken and Marlene Magson. The Matchday Magazine is being sponsored by Turriffs (Montrose) Ltd.

The Matchday Magazine costs only £2, and for this, supporters of both teams can enjoy this keepsake of the match and read the views of Manager Ray McKinnon, Captain "Tiger" Molloy and as well as a revealing in-depth chat with City goalkeeper "Buzz" in "Behind The Gloves". In addition, fans can tackle Martin's legendary BCFC Quiz as well as ‘Unscramble The Teamlines’.
