Stenhousemuir-Brechin Preview - By John Hoey

Stenhousemuir - Brechin City Match Preview

New signing Craig Wighton will go straight into manager Ray McKinnon's squad for tomorrow's trip to Ochilview to face Stenhousemuir.

The highly-rated young Dundee striker has signed initially until the middle of January and he is sure to add firepower to the City strike-force. Callum Tapping remains the only absentee as City look to extend their unbeaten run to ten games.

The sides have met twice already this season with City coming out on top on both occasions. In the first home league match of the current campaign an Alan Trouten goal a couple of minutes before the break was all that separated the sides and in the third round Scottish Cup tie at Ochilview at the beginning of last month, City again triumphed. 2-1. A Darren McCormack own-goal gave the Warriors a 1-0 half-time advantage in that match but goals from Kyle McAusland midway through the second-half and a converted penalty by Bobby Barr seven minutes from time saw City safely through to the next round.

City will be determined to get back to winning ways after five draws from their last six matches but the players know that it won't be easy against Scott Booth's men who will enter the game on the back of an excellent 3-2 victory against Ayr United at Somerset Park last Saturday, a result which sadly precipitated the departure of Honest Men manager Mark Roberts a few days later. Striker Colin McMenamin scored a hat-trick for the Warriors in that game and he will be someone the City defence will clearly have to keep a close eye on in tomorrow's fixture.

The referee tomorrow is Glasgow based Nick Walsh who has refereed only one City game this season, the 5-0 win over Stirling Albion at Forthbank on13th September.

The Brechin City Supporters Club will be running a bus to this game which will leave St Ninians Square at 11.00 am. If you wish to book a seat on the bus please contact Steven Stewart on 07547552209 or alternatively leave your name on the Supporters Facebook page.
For those travelling by car, the post code for satellite navigation systems is FK5 4QL. Parking at the ground is very restricted but there are a number of large car parks in Stenhousemuir town centre, all within a few minutes walk of the ground.

The small bar in the main stand will be open to all supporters and the near at hand Ochilview Bar is also a popular spot for visiting fans.
