Peterhead - Brechin City Match Preview

Brechin City will head north tomorrow morning to face Peterhead at Balmoor Stadium on the back of a four game unbeaten run with consecutive victories over Ayr United, Stenhousemuir and Stirling Albion followed up by last Saturday's thrilling draw in a fantastic derby match against Forfar Athletic in a game the City players felt they should have won given the chances they created.

Alan Trouten and Craig Molloy had another thirty minutes under their belts in that game and they will definitely come into consideration for a starting place tomorrow. Kyle McAusland who broke his hand in a bounce game against Montrose recently had his cast removed on Monday and trained during the week so he will also come into manager Ray McKinnon's plans and in addition Colin Hamilton and Ryan Ferguson return to the squad after missing out through suspension and injury respectively.

Ray's former Dundee United team mate Jim McInally will welcome back central defender Scott Ross but he will be without Ross Smith and Ryan McCann for City's visit.

The teams have met twice already this season, both matches being played at Glebe Park. In the second round Petrofac Training Cup tie on 19th August, the Blue Toon emerged victorious after goals from former City midfielder Jamie Redman and Steven Noble and in the league encounter just over a week later the sides shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw with Paul McLean scoring for City four minutes after the break and Jordon Brown equalising for the visitors four minutes from time.

The Match Referee tomorrow will be former Scottish cricket internationalist George Salmond who has handled one City match already this season, the 1-0 home victory over Stenhousemuir on 16th August.

Supporters are reminded that the match will be all-ticket. Tickets can be purchased from the ticket office adjacent to the main stand with prices at £12 for adults and £6 for concessions. An additional charge of £2 will apply for entry to the main stand.

In a fantastic offer, Peterhead are providing free pie and chips to ALL supporters who are in the ground before 2.45pm and in addition free stovies will be available in the Social Club from 1.30pm.

The Brechin City Supporters Club are running a bus to this game which will depart from St Ninians Square at 10.30am. Please phone or text Steven Stewart on 07547552209 to book your seat.
