Stenhousemuir - Brechin Preview - By John Hoey

Stenhousemuir v Brechin City

Scottish Cup Third Round - Ochilview Park, Saturday 1st November

Match Preview

Brechin City manager Ray McKinnon will be hoping that his players build upon their excellent away win at Somerset Park last Saturday as they prepare to face Scott Booth's Stenhousemuir side in the third round of the Scottish Cup but unfortunately he will have to do without the services of midfielder Jamie Masson who has understandably been denied permission to play by his parent club Aberdeen FC. Other than that enforced change, all of the players who took part at Ayr are fit and available for tomorrow with medium to long term casualties Alan Trouten, Craig Molloy and Callum Tapping all unfortunately side-lined again. However, Paul McLean who missed the Ayr match because of a sickness bug has made a good recovery and should be in his normal place.

Stenhousemuir boss Scott Booth will be without Kyle Docherty who is injured while fellow midfielder Sean Dickson is doubtful.

Head - To - Head -

According to the statistics provided by Soccerbase, the clubs have met on Scottish Cup duty on four occasions with two wins each for either side.

Previous Match Between The Sides

Scottish League One - 16th August 2014
Brechin City 1 (Trouten, 43) Stenhousemuir 0

Alan Trouten's goal before the break gave Brechin City a narrow win over Stenhousemuir at Glebe Park.
Craig Molloy's free-kick made its way to Trouten in the box and the midfielder fired high into the net from 10 yards.
Earlier, Trouten had a sent a similar effort over and Stenny threatened through Ryan Miller in the second half.
And, after Paul McLean had fouled Colin McMenamin, Martin Grehan's penalty was well saved by Brechin's Graeme Smith. (BBC Website Report)
