Stranraer - Brechin City Match Preview

Brechin City will make the long journey south-west tomorrow morning to face a Stranraer side who they have yet to beat this season.

City will be going all out to collect maximum points which would go along way towards securing their League One survival and indeed a City victory coupled with an Airdrie win over East Fife would confirm their League One status for next season.

Ray McKinnon's men can take a lot of heart from their performance in the hard-fought draw against Airdrie last weekend when a second-half Craig Molloy goal cancelled out the opener scored by former City striker Jim Lister and a repeat of the same team-spirit, determination and commitment tomorrow would surely see City have a good chance of collecting their first win of the season against the Blues.

The City boss has no injury worries for the trip to Stair Park and he will have a full squad from which to choose his starting eleven for incredibly the first time this season. Alan Trouten who was suspended last Saturday returns to the squad while Blues boss Stephen Aitken will welcome back Frank McKeown who was suspended for last week's match against Arbroath. In addition, long-term injury victims Chris Aitken and Mark Corcorran remain sidelined.

The referee for tomorrow's encounter is Category 1 Development Referee Gavin Duncan who will be officiating at his first League One game of the season.

Brechin City Supporters Club are running a bus to this game which will leave St Ninians Square at 9.00am and there are still seats available. Anyone who is interested in obtaining a seat on the bus should contact Steven Stewart on 07547552209.
