Brechin City - Dunfermline Preview - By John Hoey

Brechin City v Dunfermline Athletic Match Preview

Brechin City will entertain Dunfermline Athletic tomorrow afternoon for the first time in nearly twenty years.

The last meeting between the sides took place on 30th April 1994 at East End Park when the Pars ran out 2-1 winners and the last time the teams drew swords at the Glebe took place on January of the same year when the Fifers again came out on top thanks to a Neale Cooper goal.

This time round, City will be hoping to redress the balance, but manager Ray McKinnon enters the game with doubts surrounding the fitness levels of Ewan Moyes, Bobby Barr and Derek Carcary. On the plus side, the manager has completed the signing of Dundee United youngster Aidan Connolly on a month's loan. Aidan, who is the son of former City coach Paddy Connolly will go straight into the squad for tomorrow's game.

Pars boss Jim Jefferies has no injury worries and he will bring a full-strength squad through to the Glebe.

Both sides had mixed fortunes in their last league encounter with City going down by 2-1 against Arbroath at Gayfield with Bobby Barr scoring a consolation goal early in the second half after Lichties loan signing Lee Erwin had give his side a 2-0 half-time lead while the Pars came from behind to defeat Stranraer by 3-1 at East End Park, their goals coming from Andy Geggan, Luke Johnston and Allan Smith.

Tomorrow's Match Referee will be Alan Muir, while the game will be sponsored by TBP. Ian Jardine is again kindly sponsoring the Match Ball.
