Upon agreeing to take up the role in June 2015, Player-Manager Darren Dods immediately brought former City striker Lee Bailey back to The Club as his assistant. Both Darren and Lee had known each other since crossing paths in their early professional careers at Hibernian. 43-year-old Bailey was an exciting striker during his playing spell at The Glebe, which had been preceded by 2 seasons with Livingston and 2 further seasons with Queen of the South. Diminutive Lee joined The Club in October of the 1999/2000 season, departing 18 months or so later for Stirling Albion, having made 46 appearances for City and scoring 10 goals. Despite his relatively short time at Glebe Park, he had endeared himself to the City faithful by scoring in an 8-1 demolition of Albion Rovers and a 6-1 mauling of county neighbours Montrose. Notably, he also scored 4 goals in a 6-2 Scottish Cup victory against non-league Coldstream to secure a clash in the next round against Rangers at Ibrox – a tie which ultimately saw Lee feature on the front cover of Brechin City’s matchday magazine when the Clubs next met again, uniquely and memorably, in a Ramsdens Cup Tie at Glebe Park on the opening day of 2012-13 season. The amiable Fifer spends his day-job working as a Football Development Officer for the Scottish FA.
