The Manager

Jim took over the Glebe Park hot-seat on 24th May having previously managed Angus neighbours Arbroath and Montrose.
Jim’s playing career began at Hamilton Accies in 1987 and he made over 200 appearances for the Lanarkshire club before signing for Hearts in 1993, but within a year he was on the move again when he was signed by St. Johnstone.
Injury plagued his career at McDiarmid Park but he still managed to make over 200 appearances for the Perth club and was captain of the team for the majority of his time there.
With his playing career nearing an end, Jim became assistant manager to John Connolly and then Owen Coyle.
After over 13 years at St. Johnstone, Jim took his first step into management when he became boss of Montrose in February 2007. He left the Gable Endies in September 2008 and just over a year later, took over the managerial reigns at Arbroath, replacing John McGlashan.
Despite his best efforts, he couldn’t save the Red Lichties from relegation at the end of season 2010.
After Jim Duffy’s resignation, the management committee at Brechin decided that he was the man to take the team forward and everyone at the club was delighted when he accepted the offer to become manager in May 2010.
